A local woman is facing domestic assault and criminal mischief charges after police say an encounter with her ex-partner and another woman ended in fisticuffs at a residence in Morrill.

April Furrow, 37, of Morrill, incurred the charges after an incident that allegedly occurred at a residence on South Main Street at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Lt. Jason Trundy with the Waldo County Sheriff's Office said the trouble apparently started when Furrow went to the residence at about 3:30 a.m., according to police records.

"She went over to her former partner's house to drop the dogs off and found her ex-girlfriend's new girlfriend was there," said Trundy. "There was then a fight, which resulted in Ms. Furrow kicking in a door and physically assaulting her former girlfriend."

Trundy said the alleged victim did not require medical attention, but that Furrow was transported to Waldo County General Hospital to be treated for a wrist injury she incurred during the incident. Furrow was later transported to the Waldo County Jail.
