The Midcoast Recreation Center will play its second annual MRC Benefit Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 21 at 9 a.m. at the Goose River Golf Club. The rainout date is Sunday, June 22.

The 18-hole scramble event seeks golfers to participate.

The event will have team prizes for low gross and net and individual prizes for closest-to-the-pin and longest drive. All proceeds will benefit MRC, a non-profit for a healthier community.

“The golf tournament is a great way for MRC to fulfill its mission to promote healthy living in the community,” said Barrett Brown, MRC board president. “Not only does participation in the golf tournament itself promote healthy living, but proceeds from the tournament will allow MRC to offer financial assistance so that other community members can benefit from all of the healthy activities at MRC."

Registration for the tourney can be done individually or in four-person teams. If one is interested in playing in the event or would like more information, email Seth Meyer at or call 236-9400.
