Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following incidents in Waldo County between May 12 and May 16. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 800-452-4664.

May 16

Trooper Jacob Ferland stopped Jay Ditullio, 20, on Route 1A in Prospect for having a headlight out. Ditullio was summoned for operating after suspension.

May 14

Trooper Benjamin Sweeney, Trooper Corey Smith and Trooper Ferland responded to Dalia Farm Road in Monroe for a reported assault. Michael Epley, 36, of Monroe, was charged with assault due to the fact there was probable cause to believe he assaulted a family member.

Trooper Thomas Bureau stopped Jamie Ordway, 31, traveling southbound on Route 1A in Frankfort for an inspection violation. Ordway’s license was suspended and he was charged with criminal operating after suspension.

May 12

Police responded to an unattended death in Prospect. An investigation determined that Marion Hood, 61, died of natural causes.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
