The public is invited to a free open studio celebration Saturday, June 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Randy Fein’s new Arts At The Center, 6 Heal Road (the former Grandpa Hall Building, across from the general store). Refreshments will be served on handmade glass and ceramic plates made by the resident artists, and Fein will demonstrate hand building and pottery wheel techniques from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Fein is an accomplished ceramic sculptor and well-known arts educator with a 30-year history of leading community-inspired workshops in both public and private schools. She has experience in creating and running cooperative clay studios having been artist in residence at the co-op studios of Portland Pottery and at Mud-Flat Studios in Somerville, Mass. From 2001 to 2003, Fein designed and ran the Babson College Ceramics Studio in Wellesley, Mass.; and she served as ceramic arts instructor at Unity College from 2007 to 2012. Her ceramic relief installations are in the collections of numerous institutions, and she has led workshops and installed murals in public schools all over Maine. She also has produced producing art and craft shows for 30 years, including the annual Artfull Gifts Holiday Show at Point Lookout in Northport.

Arts At The Center will offer workshops in the ceramic arts; and has gallery space to showcase Fein’s ceramic sculpture and pottery, as well as the work of studio member Paul Kluger of PK Originals, who works in fused and slump glass.
