Lois A. Hooper, 59, of North Port, Fla. and Morrill, Maine, passed away May 23, 2014. She was born June 10, 1954 in Medford, Mass. She was a graduate of Belfast Area High School class of 1972, earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine, Orono, and her master’s degree from the Florida Institute of Technology. She worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for the last 17 years, earning numerous awards and recognitions throughout her career as a health information management specialist. She was a member and past president of American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). She loved to travel and traveled all over the world, she was a great cook, and she loved her family, friends and four legged babies very much. She is survived by her husband Robert Hooper; sisters Gail Eddy, Joyce D’Antilio and Brenda Metzinger; brothers Jeff and Bob Hollingsworth; daughter Jessica Hall; grandson Alex Hooper; son Scott Hall; stepchildren Jennifer and husband Phillipe Selendy and children Max and Liam, Ben and wife Melissa Hooper and children Marina and Auggie; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 12 at 1 p.m. at Grove Cemetery, 21 Belmont Ave.in Belfast. A Celebration of her Life will follow the service at The First Congregational Church at 8 Church St., Searsport.
