On Friday, July 11, from 3 to 5 p.m., the Belfast Co-op's hosting a tour with Bindy Pendleton at her East Belfast home where she will lead a walk among her herbal and perennial gardens, sharing growing and usage tips for medicinal and culinary herbs.

Some of the herbs under cultivation were once wildcrafted, but are now on the United Plant Savers, unitedplantsavers.org, 'At-Risk' list.

Pendleton is the owner of Eastside Shore Herbal Gardens and has many years of experience using, preparing, and growing herbs. Her passion is encouraging people to incorporate herbs into daily use.

After the walk there will be herbal tea and other samples of homemade herbal preparations. Free; pre-registration required, limited to eight participants. Register at the Belfast Co-op or call 338-2532. Participants will carpool from the Co-op, leaving at 2:45 p.m.
