A Main Street Art Market and Wellness Day Festival will take place Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Health and Wellness Building Parking Lot, 39 Main St., between Rollie's and Traci's Diner.

The community festival is hosted by Expanding Opportunities, the local nonprofit organization that operates Aina Moja, an artisan support shop at the Health and Wellness Building. The Art Market will feature local artists, as well and cultural art that is ethically and responsibly sourced. Some spaces will be designated to local farmers with fresh Maine made goods and produce.

The event promises to be a fun time with musicians including Eric Green, David Scott Norton, Merther, Uncle Spudd and more. A children's booth with Camp Forest will offer face painting, basket making and other crafts with nature in mind. Inside the building, there will be a fashion show at noon featuring handmade and fair trade fashions with a purpose.

The Main Street Art Market and Wellness Day Festival is free to the public, while donations will be encouraged. Anyone interested in taking part of this fun experience is encouraged to call Nicole Carbisiero at 930-8012. For more information on Expanding Opportunities, visit exop.org.
