Searsport United Methodist Church, 43 East Main St./Route 1, will host gospel singer Dan Schall Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 6:30 p.m. The concert is free, with a love offering to support Dan Schall Ministries.

Schall is from Zelienople, Pa. Through his music and testimony, he conveys his love for Jesus Christ and his concern for his fellow man’s eternity. His ministry focuses on encouragement and God’s love for humankind.

Schall stutters when he speaks and in his early years, he was filled with anger, feeling that even if there were a God, he had been forsaken. But he had been given a singing voice and through his concerts, he is able to reach out in a simple way to help others realize what God has given them.

Schall worked a full-time job for 30 years and still continued to give 100 to 125 concerts a year. In the fall of 2001, he resigned his job and formed the nonprofit Dan Schall Ministries. In addition to his concerts, he now spends much of his time visiting the people that God leads him to.  He and his wife Linda travel thousands of miles each year, spreading the gospel message.
