The Maine Sierra Club continues its Penobscot Bay Film Series with a screening of “Ocean Frontiers II” Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m.  in the Abbott Room of Belfast Free Library, 106 High St.

The 2013 documentary film portrays inspiring stories of citizens of New England coming together for the sake of their sea. In a pioneering trial of far-sighted planning — pushed by blueprints for offshore wind energy — how do we meet our ever-expanding demands on the ocean, without destroying it? “Ocean Frontiers II: A New England Story for Sustaining the Sea” is an inspiring story of citizens working together for healthier economies and healthier seas across New England.

Post-film discussion will be led by Diane Cowan, executive director and senior scientist of the Lobster Conservancy, which she founded with a vision of building a bridge to join all those sharing the common goal of maintaining a strong and healthy lobster resource. For more information, call 761-5616; email maine.chapter@sierraclub.org; or visit maine.sierraclub.org.
