Dr. Lauren Klausmeyer has joined Seebreeze Family Eyecare of Belfast, Dr. Amy Marnecheck has announced.

Klausmeyer, formerly Lauren Philbrook, grew up in Belfast and is a graduate of Belfast Area High School and Bates College, where she earned her B.S. degree in biology. She worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston for three years as a senior research coordinator, conducting clinical trials in surgical and trauma critical care.

Klausmeyer obtained her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She completed clinical training at Lahey Clinic in primary care, Tufts Medical Center in pediatrics, Joslin Diabetes Center in low vision, Lowell Veteran’s Hospital in ocular disease, the New England Eye Institute in specialty contact lenses, and Fenway Health Center in ocular disease and community health.

She is certified with the American Board of Optometry and a member of the American Optometric Association.

Klausmeyer said she is happy to have recently returned to her hometown with her husband Peter. She is accepting new patients of all ages at Seebreeze Family Eyecare, 91 Waldo Ave.
