Having been rained out Oct. 24, the intrepid Plein Air Painters of Maine will hold their all-day painting event Friday, Oct. 31, at the town’s Quarry Hill. Hurricane Gallery, 175 Quarry Road, will join this adventure and offers ample parking at the end of Quarry Road, just off Depot Street, within minutes of Route 1.

Coordinator Luise van Keuren noted there are many fine sites for painting in this secluded spot that includes old stone walls, a pond and wide fields of blueberries. In addition, there is the quarry itself, one of the most striking natural features in Lincoln County.

There are no fees and artists are free to come and leave whenever they want. Hurricane Gallery can provide three or four easels if needed. All are welcome, including beginners. For more information, call van Keuren at 594-9060 or Hurricane Gallery at 832-4062 or 701-7477.
