Bring the joy of the holidays to a local child in need. Donate a new and unwrapped toy at one of the many Toys for Tots drop-off locations across Knox, Lincoln, and Waldo counties. Locate the nearest drop-off location from the list below and make the holidays special for a local child. Donations boxes will be available Nov. 4 through Dec. 20.

The Midcoast Detachment of the Marine Corps League sponsors Toys for Tots of Knox, Lincoln, and Waldo counties.

“Your donations bring Christmas to local kids in your community. Last year there were 8,664 toys distributed in Knox, Lincoln, and Waldo counties thanks to the generous support of the community.” said Joan Vargas, Toys for Tots coordinator.

Toys for Tots is operating from the Nativity Lutheran Church in Rockport, who has generously donated the space, for the third year in a row. Donations and toy pick up at the church are by appointment only. For toy requests, call Vargas at 354-6282.

The objectives of the Toys for Tots program are to help less fortunate children locally and throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
