Army Pfc. Daniel P. Banks has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Benning, Ga. During the nine-week training period, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship and bayonet training, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions, and core values.

Banks is the husband of Audree Banks and son of Richard Banks of Winterport.

He graduated in 2005 from Hampden Academy and he earned an associate degree in 2013 from the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, N.Y.
