Police received a report of a suspicious person on Harris Road after a juvenile knocked on a resident's door. When the resident answered, the juvenile, who was dressed in Halloween garb, appeared to have blood on her face. The resident dialed 911 at which time the juvenile fled into the nearby woods, Searsport Police Chief Dick LaHaye said.

Officers and game wardens searched the woods for the juvenile but were unable to locate her. On Nov. 1, police were informed the juvenile returned to her home. LaHaye said he met with the juvenile who said she panicked when the Harris Road resident dialed 911 and ran into the road. She told police she spent the night in a vehicle before returning to her home the next morning.

LaHaye said he spoke to the juvenile regarding the incident and she was remorseful. He said law enforcement personnel were occupied for about five to six hours while searching for the juvenile during the night.
