“Moments in Time,” a new seasonal exhibition by The Lively Ladies, will open with a 5 to 7 p.m. reception Friday, May 29, in The Garage Gallery at Eastern Tire & Auto Service, 70 Park St.

A moment in time happens in a split second, a blink of an eye or a drop of a hat. It could be a drip or a snip, or the sight of a ship. It might be a splash, a crash or the flash of a smile; a beam of sun or the spark of a firefly — an infinitesimal moment. In her artwork, Stell Shevis of Camden explores some of these events.

Other participating artists are portraying remembered scenes, birds and enchanting faces. Also expected are envisioned interpretations brushed or painted onto crisp paper or primed canvas. Some may depict local landscapes and some, seascapes.

Besides Stell Shevis, featured artists are Lois Anne and Deborah Winship of Rockland; Rebecca Thompson and Lauralee Clayton of Lincolnville; Edith La Roche of Searsmont; Audrey McGlashan of Owls Head; and Elizabeth O'Haverty of Palermo.

Light refreshments and beverages will be served, and the public is invited to attend. The exhibition is slated through the summer months. The Garage Gallery is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed on holidays).
