The nonprofit Belfast Maskers theater company has cast its spring musical production, “On Broadway,” for the second year under the musical direction of John Cameron. This year’s show, featuring favorite songs from the American stage, is produced in cooperation with Marsh River Theater. Performances will be held in June in Belfast, Brooks and Northport’s part of Northport’s Bayside centennial celebration). The 20-person cast includes longtime Maskers performers and newcomers age 8 through adult.

The Maskers also are planning a full-day performing arts camp to be held Aug. 10 through 14. The camp introduces a variety of performing arts with a series of daily workshops offered by some of Waldo County’s most creative educators. Students will be instructed in dance and movement by Shana Bloomstein, mime by Scot Cannon, puppetry and stilt walking by Willow Cordes-Eklund and music and art by Bridget Matros. These instructors will work with kids age 7 to 12 in a fun, supportive atmosphere to develop skills and confidence. At the end of the week, they will share what they have learned in a variety show for friends and family.

Auditions for the Maskers July production of Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None” will take place Sundays, May 31 and June 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Abbott Room of Belfast Free Library, 106 High St. The mystery, also known as “Ten Little Indians,” is widely considered to be Christie’s masterpiece, with the thrilling stage adaptation also written by the author. This year marks the 125th anniversary of Agatha Christie’s birth, and England’s Agatha Christie Theater Company has launched a travelling production of “And Then There Were None” to mark this anniversary. The Belfast Maskers will join the celebration by presenting their show during the weekend of July 10 to 12, in coordination with the Arts in the Park Festival.
