Young singers representing two choral groups under the umbrella of Midcoast Community Chorus will perform a benefit concert Thursday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 55 Elm St./Route 1.

Under the direction of Steve Weston, singers from MC3! — age 6 to 11 — and Youth Voice — age 12 and older — will perform a variety of choral pieces from their spring semesters. Sean Fleming, MCC assistant director, will serve as accompanist for the young singers.

Emulating the 140-voice adult chorus, the young singers’ efforts will support the Area Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry. Concert attendees are asked to please bring a non-perishable food item to leave at the door and cash donations will be gratefully accepted.

“We couldn't be more excited to see our young singers support MCC’s mission of ‘singing as a community for the community’,” said MCC founder and artistic director Mimi Bornstein.
