The American Lung Association is looking for volunteers to help with the 31st annual Trek Across Maine when cyclists finish in Belfast June 21.

The Trek Across Maine is a three-day, 180-mile cycling event from the mountains of Sunday River Ski Resort in Newry to Steamboat Landing in Belfast, June 19-21. As the largest fundraising event of its kind in the nation for the American Lung Association, the Trek has raised more than $22 million in the past 30 years.

Area residents can volunteer to serve as finish line roamers, luggage crew and finish line clean-up crew in Belfast in the morning or afternoon, all day, or just for a few hours.

Volunteers are also needed to help at the rest stops right outside Belfast. Volunteers receive a T-shirt as well as food. To register to volunteer, visit action.lung.org/site/TR/TreksAcrossNewEngland/ALANE_Northeast?pg=entry&fr_id=10630 or contact Melissa Walden with any questions you may have at MWalden@LungNE.org or 624-0306.
