Liberty Library, 59 Main St./Route 173 (beside Liberty Tool) will host a panel of three Maine mystery writers Sunday, June 14, at 2 p.m. A creative assortment of desserts and tea will be served.

Dorothy Cannell is the author of mystery novels and numerous short stories, including the award-winning Ellie Haskell mystery series. Born in Nottingham, England, she lives in Belfast. She has written 14 widely acclaimed mysteries featuring Ellie Haskell, interior decorator; Ben Haskell, writer and chef; and Hyacinth and Primrose Tramwell, a pair of dotty sisters and owners of the Flowers  Detection Agency. Her latest book, “Death at Dovecote Hatch,” is the second Florence Norris mystery.

Kate Flora of Harpswell is the author of 14 mystery and true crime books including “Finding Amy,” a 2007 Edgar nominee co-written with a Portland deputy police chief. Her other titles include the Thea Kozak mysteries and the starred-review Joe Burgess police series, the third of which,” Redemption,” won the 2013 Maine Literary Award for Crime Fiction. The latest in the Joe Burgess mystery series is “And Grant You Peace.”

Lea Wait of Edgecomb writes carefully researched historical novels for children set in 19th-century Wiscasset and is known for the seven-book Agatha-finalist Shadows Antique Prints mystery series; Wait is an antiques dealer herself. Her Mainely Needlepoint series debuted in January with “Twisted Threads.”

The panelists will have books on hand to sign after their presentation.
