The Good Kettle on Route 1 will host a benefit wine tasting and art showing for the Waldo County Humane Society Thursday, June 18, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Local Stockton Springs artist Anne Spencer will be the featured artist. Born in Pennsylvania and raised in New Jersey, Spencer has lived in Maine for more than 40 years. She has practiced occupational therapy and pursued her love of painting and sketching with watercolor and ink, nationally and internationally.

Spencer is a longtime member of the Bangor Art Society. She has exhibited her paintings in Bangor, Belfast, Blue Hill, Brooks, Rockland, Searsport, Bucksport, Unity, Bar Harbor, Northport and Stockton Springs, as well as in locations out-of-state. She enjoys teaching sketching and watercolor techniques in adult education programs, workshops and presentations. Her paintings have received several awards.

Central Distributors is supplying the wines for the tasting; those who buy a case of 12 bottles, mix or match, will get a 10 percent discount. Ten percent of the evening’s sale profits will benefit the Waldo County Humane Society. Light appetizers will be paired with selected wines.
