Betts Gallery will open “Bon Appetit: Food Production, Presentation, Politics” Wednesday, June 24. The opening reception Friday, June 26, in conjunction with Belfast Arts’ Fourth Friday Art Walks, coincides with Maine Farmland Trust’s Maine Fare event and will feature tasty samplings from local farms and producers.

Thirteen Maine artists have harvested their best food-related work for this feast for the eyes exhibition. Kenny Cole, Julie Cyr, Elsie Gawler, Mike Fletcher, Jay Gibson, Sheep Jones, Daniel Kirchoff, Jeffrey Ackerman, Julie Rose, Kathy Weinberg, Janalee Welch, Isaac Wright and Bennett Konesni offer works of various media including oil, papercutting, collage, printmaking, watercolor, graphite, photography and sculpture and assemblage.

The show will run through July 18 at Betts Gallery, located at The Belfast Framer, 96 Main St.
