The Finch Gallery, a new venture by established artist Jerri Finch, is opening at 16 Main St. The public is invited to a grand opening during the downtown Fourth Fridays Art Walk June 26 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Finch Gallery offers a collection of original oils by the artist, as well as prints, posters, cards and postcards. It is situated between Federal and Main, behind the Consumers Fuel Company. Finch, who has lived and painted in Belfast for 35 years, is known for creating intensely saturated and graphic imagery celebrating both the natural and inner worlds. She has been working behind the scenes since winter and is looking forward to opening her doors to the public.

The Finch Gallery is a seasonal one and will close mid-September. Summer hours are Fridays through Sundays from 2 to 7 p.m.; Mondays and Tuesdays from 2 to 6 p.m.; and by chance or appointment. For more information, call 338-1060 or visit
