Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast was recently named one of the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in the country.

The hospitals scored best among critical access hospitals in iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index. The rankings were recently announced by the National Rural Health Association. An awards ceremony will be held during the Critical Access Hospital Conference in October in Kansas City, Mo.

The Top 20 Critical Access Hospital winners are those that have achieved success in overall performance based on a composite rating of all 10 of iVantage’s indices of strength.

“Waldo County General Hospital is proud of the efforts of its physicians and staff who have contributed to our hospital achieving this designation,” said Mark Biscone, chief executive officer, adding the designation means the community can count on WCGH to deliver the services it needs "now and in the future."
