Catharine Cloutier of Liberty, a recent graduate of UMaine, Orono, will sing the solo part in Zelenka's Magnificat Thursday, July 30, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church, 330 Hinckley Ridge Road. The program is on the opening concert of Blue Hill Bach's 2015 festival.

Mezzo-soprano Cloutier, who graduated from the music education program, studies with tenor Francis Vogt and previously a student of Diana Brookes Brown. At UMaine, she performed in the University Singers, the Opera Workshop, Oratorio Society and the premier women's ensemble, Renaissance, which she also directed. She is an active performer of early music with Blue Hill Bach and the Somerset Consort.

Now in its fifth year, Blue Hill Bach presents historically informed performances of vocal and instrumental music of the Baroque. For more information, visit bluehillbach.org.
