Renowned storyteller Michael Parent will perform Tuesday, July 21, at 9:30 a.m. at Stockton Springs Community Library, 6 Station St. at the Main Street corner, as part of the library’s special weekly summer reading series, dubbed Everyone’s Hero. People of all ages will enjoy Parent’s presentation.

The storyteller, author and musician, draws upon his Franco-American heritage to perform a blend of stories, songs and one-man shows. Since 1977, Parent has been telling stories from all over the world and singing songs in many languages.

Parent has received many awards including the American Library Association Notable Record Award, National Storytelling Network’s Circle of Excellence Award, Parents’ Choice Magazine Gold Award and others. He has participated in storytelling festivals throughout the United States. His original one-man shows include the “Goofy Show” “ One More Thing” and “A Beautiful Game.”

The event is free and everyone is welcome. The Stockton Springs Community Library is an all-volunteer library located in the historic Colcord House. For more information, visit or call 567-4147.
