The Union Fair and Maine Wild Blueberry Festival, which will run Aug. 22 through 29, is still accepting applications for the third annual talent show. Deadline for entries is Sunday, Aug. 16.

This year, there will be two age brackets for competitors: ages up to 16; and age 17 and older. There will be a first, second and third prize in each age bracket, for a total of $900 in prize money.

Union Fair is looking for all kinds of talent, which might include singing, juggling, playing a musical instrument, comedy, dancing, bands, etc. All performances must be acceptable for all ages. Only 25 applications will be accepted.

Auditions will start at noon Saturday, Aug. 22; the 25 applicants will be narrowed to 10 (five in each category) that day. The second day of auditions will start at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Entertainment Center. The 10 semi-finalists will perform that evening, and six will be chosen to perform again. First place winners will receive $300 each, second place $100 and third place $50.
