Marsh River Theater will presents “Little Shop of Horrors” Fridays and Saturdays, July 31 through Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the venerable venue, 24 Monroe Highway/Route 139.

“Little Shop of Horrors” is a quick-witted, fast-paced 1960s-era dark comedic musical about a boy, a girl and a man-eating plant. With music ranging from Motown-inspired numbers to sappy ballads, there is surely something to please all musical palettes. Theatergoers will find themselves rooting for the characters and sitting on the edge of your seats waiting to find out what will happen — Will the guy get the girl? Will the plant take over the world?

Marsh River Theater has attracted a very talented cast from all over Waldo County. Seymour Krelborn is played by Cameron Pillitteri, and Tori Osman plays Audrey. The voice that will strike fear into the hearts of the audience playing Audrey II is Caleb Larrabee. Orin Scrivello, the nasty dentist who loves to see people in pain, is played by Jordan Quimby. The Urchin Trio features Cassandra Cunningham, Julia Alexander and Liz Clifford. Mr. Mushnik is played by John Hamer and, filling out the cast, in the ensemble are Sarah Osman, Sarah Viekman, Hannah Clifford and Mariah Gould. The Audrey II puppet will be puppeteered by Reilly Sullivan, who also makes a few appearances in the large ensemble numbers.

Admission is $12, $10 for senior citizens and children younger than 12. For more information, call the box office at 722-4110.
