Belfast Summer Nights continues Thursday, Aug. 20, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the downtown corner of Main and High streets. Families are invited to bring dancing shoes, lawn chairs and picnic suppers; no dogs are permitted in the concert area.

Performing this week is Mother Superior and the Sliding Royals, a soul band from Dover, N.H., featuring some of the seacoast's best and fronted by the inimitable Taylor O'Donnell. The rock/soul/pop outfit has a knack for crafting stylish anthems that are as emotionally charged as they are radio-friendly. The band has just released its first album, a self-titled and –released disc of soul, R&B and funk.

The seasonal series will conclude Aug. 27 with Bennett Konesni and the Leaky Boot Jug Band at Steamboat Park. For more information, call 322-7123 and check out the Facebook page.
