Local farmer and author Jennifer Wixson will introduce her latest book, "The Minister’s Daughter,” Thursday, Aug. 27, From 6:30 to 8 p.m. at a fundraiser for the historic Troy Union Church. The event will be held at the B.B. Cook Clubhouse, 597 Bangor Road/routes 202 and 9, since the church is currently under restoration.

Wixson will read from her new book, the fourth in her Sovereign Series of novels all set in the fictitious town of Sovereign, situated somewhere between Troy and Dixmont. In addition, she will talk about what’s coming next down the pike in Sovereign including at least two more novels and “The Sovereign Series Cookbook,” coming out in 2016. Autographed copies of all Wixson’s books will be on sale and $5 from the sale of each book will be donated to the Troy Union Church Steeple Fund. The church, built in 1840, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has received several grants to help restore its steeple.

The event is open to the public and light refreshments will be served. After the event, Wixson’s books will be on sale at Troy General Store, where $5 from the sale of each copy also will go to the Steeple Fund.
