Belfast Free Library will host a second Children’s Book Brunch Saturday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. This final event of the Every Hero Has a Story summer reading program celebrates the heroes of Greek mythology and the book series by Rick Riordan that features Percy Jackson.

The brunch program will center on Portland-based storyteller Jean Armstrong’s show, "Greek Myths Alive!" From brave heroic journeys to origin myths, the performance about adventure, love, revenge and lessons learned from too much pride, makes Greek myths memorable.

Children are invited to come dressed as their favorite Greek god or hero for a parade through downtown Belfast. Ambrosia and nectar, the food and drink of the gods, are on the brunch menu.

All are welcome. Celebrate the tales of Greek mythology even if you have not yet read the Percy Jackson books. All library events are free and open to the public. For more information and to RSVP, contact the library at 338-3884, ext. 24.
