The seasonal Belfast Summer Nights outdoor concert series will conclude Thursday, Aug. 27, at the waterfront Steamboat Park; rain location is the Belfast Boathouse. Families are invited to bring dancing shoes, lawn chairs and picnic suppers; no dogs are permitted in the concert area. Capping thus summer’s series will be Bennett Konesni and the Leaky Boot Jug Band.

Singer/songwriter Konesni grew up in Appleton and on Islesboro; and was naturally drawn into the strong communities of old-time music and farming in Midcoast Maine. After studies at Middlebury College, he was awarded a Thomas J Watson fellowship to spend a postgraduate year in Africa, Asia and Europe studying music that transforms labor into something between work and play.

The Leaky Boot Jug Band is a Waldo County- based group of musicians who have been pleasing crowds around Maine since 2012. The band plays a rocking repertoire of original songs, bluegrass, old-timey, blues and Americana with grooving rhythm and tight harmonies. Leaky Boot features James Bryant on jug, Annadeene K. Fowler on vocals, Tom Fowler on mandolin, Jon Kerr on banjo, David Lewis on bass, Russ Lloyd on guitar, Dan Miller on percussion and Neal Parent on harmonica.
