The seasonal Belfast Art Market runs Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Sept. 4 on the grounds of Waterfall Arts, 256 High St., rain or shine.

Artists come from as far away as Thomaston and Ellsworth and all points in between — even some from as far as New York City — to offer clothing, jewelry, accessories, candles, pottery, soap and body care products, appliqué quilts, fiber arts, stuffed animals, fine arts including acrylic, watercolor and oil paintings and prints, professional photographic prints and more.

Featured Aug. 28 will be Leslie Jones, a self-taught bead artist. Her pieces are created with a needle and thread, often incorporating hundreds of tiny seed beads and other embellishing techniques. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation of wearable art. In the rare non-beading moments, Jones can be found exploring Maine with her two Italian greyhounds and chihuahua.

For two more Friday mornings, there will be a fun-filled market, since the Belfast Farmers Market and the galleries at Waterfall Arts are open at the same time.
