The Penobscot Bay Singers are embarking upon their 42nd year of choral music in the Midcoast region. Three song cycles will be presented this season: a holiday program Dec. 12 and 13; a spring program April 2 and 3; and a pops program June 11 and 12. Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Margaret's Parish Hall, on Court Street.

All voices are invited to audition. Decisions are based on voice quality, pitch, ability to blend and music reading skills. There is a $50 membership fee. Scholarships may be available based depending upon circumstances. Auditions with the director Richard Dostie will be held Sept. 9 and 16, after the regular rehearsals. Requests for audition should be made to PenBaySingers@gmail.com.

The Penobscot Bay Singers, originally the Robert Coller Coastal Chorale, has been entertaining audiences in and around Waldo County since 1973. The singers are an eclectic group, ranging from a pre-teen to singers in their 80s, with varying backgrounds. The common factor is love of choral music. The Penobscot Bay Singers is a 501(c)(3) organization. More information about the group may be found on its Facebook page.
