Local singer/songwriter, public speaker and life coach Concepta will release “Raising Confident Daughters,” an e-book free to download beginning Friday, Sept. 18, at raisingconfidentdaughters.com.

Concepta has dedicated her work to inspire and empower teenage girls to build their confidence, and “Raising Confident Daughters” is for anyone raising teen girls. The teen years are a colorful, yet difficult time for girls, who are trying to “fit in” while being bombarded by media and peers on how to look, dress, speak and behave. Their confidence and self-image suffer because they compare themselves to a warped definition of beautiful and sexy.

During these crucial years, a parent has the responsibility to guide and help smart decision-making. It is not easy to raise a teenaged daughter and often times parents end up worrying if they have done a good job or not. “Raising Confident Daughters” addresses these issues and helps parents find the right approach to raising confident and smart girls. The e-book has tips and strategies that any parent will be able to use.

Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Concepta was not immune to the troubles of being a teenage girl. She uses her experiences and her life challenges as the foundation of her work. “Raising Confident Daughters” is just one of the many ways she strives to help teens in her community and local organizations.

Concepta also is the author of “10 ‘I Am’ Affirmations Every Teen Girl Needs” and “How to Help Build Your Daughter’s Confidence.” She and her husband, David, live in Belfast. They have experienced co-parenting two teens already and have two more on the way.
