​The sixth annual KnitMaine-ia Fashion Show is calling for fun fiber fashions to fill its runway Saturday afternoon, Oct. 3, at the waterfront Belfast Boathouse. The event celebrates the rich tradition of fiber art in the Maine community with a colorful fashion show, generous door prizes and a chance for​​ ​fiber enthusiasts to mingle with other at a reception following​ t​​he show.

The fun will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. Tickets are $12. One hundred percent of profits will be donated to New Hope for Women, a local​ ​organization committed to ending ​domestic violence.​

Work is sought from knitters, crocheters, afghan makers and more.​ ​​Clothing, accessories and afghans​ ​will be collected, thoughtfully cared for, displayed or modeled​ ​​and returned immediately after the event.​The 2015​ ​​theme​ ​is rainbows, although this is not a requirement for submissions.
