There will be an all-day summit Oct. 3 for educators, parents, employers, medical professionals, clergy, law enforcement, social service workers, people in recovery and family members and friends aimed at discovering solutions for alcoholism and drug addiction.

The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and takes place at Waldo County General Hospital, 118 Northport Ave., in the lower level classroom. Speakers include medical professionals, police, counselors and a judge.
