Spiritual Discovery: How you can better the world, is the title of a talk that will be given at  Belfast Free Library Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. At a time when more people than ever are working to make a difference for the better in the world, genuine spirituality has a valuable and unique contribution to make. It’s not about joining a club, or blind faith, but the understanding of universal truth and love, God, that embraces everyone, and brings to light reliable healing solutions even where it might seem like there are none.

The speaker will be Tom McElroy from Jamaica Plain, Mass. McElroy has given talks on spirituality throughout the United States and Canada, as well as in Europe, Australia and Africa.  After graduating from college, McElroy worked in real estate finance, and at the same time volunteered as a prison chaplain, where he worked with inmates in men’s, women’s and youth facilities. Now as a Christian Science practitioner, he prays with people from all over the world in order to help others find spiritually-based solutions to challenges ranging from health and finance issues to relationship difficulties.

This talk is sponsored by the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Camden, and is free and open to the public. Child care is available.  Come learn more about how spiritual discoveries can make a tangible difference in bettering your life and our world.
