The Game Loft was recently awarded a $2,500 grant to support the program’s efforts in overcoming transportation barriers. The grant was provided by Bangor Savings Bank.

The Game Loft will use the funding to continue to offer rides to and from the program for area youth free of charge. The Game Loft provides an environment where young people are guided to become caring, competent, confident, contributing and connected adults.

The Loft is additionally funded, in part, with support from the city of Belfast and other Waldo County municipalities, United Mid-Coast Charities, United Way of Eastern Maine and many individual donors and other foundations.

The Loft is open Monday for young gamers 12 and under, Tuesday and Thursday, 2-6 p.m.; Friday, 2-8:30 p.m., for young people age 18 and under; and at Mount View Middle School, Wednesdays, 3-5:15 p.m., for youth in grades 3-12. For more information visit thegameloft.org.

The Bangor Savings Bank Foundation continuously supports projects to make communities more prosperous, more livable and more vibrant, and is happy to include The Game Loft among the Maine organizations supported.
