Children and parents are invited to come make Halloween scarecrows at the Lincolnville Community Library, 208 Main St., Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Participants will use fabric and cardboard on wooden frames to create little people and then add decorations and hats. Each scarecrow will be about 18 inches tall and may be stuck in the ground to display.

All necessary materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own bandanas, large buttons or other embellishments for their Halloween creations. There is no charge for the program.
