Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following incidents in Waldo County from Oct. 12 to Oct 15. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 800-452-4664.

Oct. 15

Trooper Benjamin Sweeney arrested James Johnson, 35, of Searsmont, on a warrant at his residence. Johnson was arrested without incident and taken to Waldo County Correctional Center.

Oct. 12

Trooper Desiree Wuthenow stopped Charlotte Kirk, 21, on Route 3 in Palermo for a speeding violation. An investigation determined Kirk’s registration was expired more than 150 days. Kirk was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
