Cellardoor Winery announced Oct. 27 that it will help the Friends of Mt. Battie Tower to restore and preserve the iconic Camden landmark. With every bottle of the winery’s Stone Tower dry Riesling sold through 2016, Cellardoor will donate $1 to the organization, up to $10,000.

“The Friends of Mt. Battie Tower are a group of committed volunteers who not only want to restore this incredible structure but create a fund that will keep it from falling into disrepair for years to come,” said Bettina Doulton, owner of Cellardoor Winery. “As members of this community, we want to do our part to preserve and protect the things that make this such a magical place to live and work.”

“When we met with Bettina and her team to discuss the project and our needs, it didn’t take long for them to say ‘Yes, we’re here to help,’” said Randy Stearns, chairman, Friends of Mt. Battie Tower. “This generous donation will go a long way to help with repairs and also fund continuing upkeep.”

To make the $10,000 donation from Cellardoor Winery a reality, simply purchase a bottle of Cellardoor Stone Tower wine. For information on where Cellardoor wines are available, go to the wine finder on mainewine.com.
