Belfast Area High School and Footlights will present “Footloose,” a stage adaptation of the popular 1984 movie, as this school year’s fall musical in the gymnasium of BAHS, 98 Waldo Ave. Performances will be Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m., Nov. 6 through 15.

Ren, a rebellious teenager, moves to a small farm town, where dancing has been outlawed following a tragedy that took the lives of five of the town's youth. He encourages his classmates to defy the local pastor and call for a rock ‘n’ roll prom.

The show’s stage direction is by Sonja Richardson, with music and vocal direction by John Cameron. The BAHS cast features Cameron Pillitteri as Ren McCormack, Genevieve Schortz as Ethel McCormack, Leander Andrews as the Rev. Shaw Moore, Macartney Wyatt as Vi Moore, Cassandra Cunningham as Ariel Moore, Talia LaRue as Lulu Warnicker, Skyler Bean as Wes Warnicker, Charlie Lagerbom as Principal/Coach Dunbar, Brittany Steele as Eleanor Dunbar, Olivia LaRoche as Rusty, Morgan Suderley as Urleen, Olivia Andrews as Wendy Jo, Will Bickford as Chuck Cranston, Aiden Pike as Travis, Annie Wirth as Cop, Alison Hills as Betty Blast, Christian Stevens as Willard Hewitt, Ewelina Oles as Jenny, Dalia Far as Becky, Alison Hills as Grace, Annie Wirth as Cowboy Bobbi and Aiden Pike as Cowboy Bob.

The tech and stage crew includes Jessica Tucker and Skye Fountaine on lights; Kendra Belden, sound; and running crew members Quentin Marriner, Alyssa Limeburner, Olivia McKenna Stevens, Michaela Ecker, Jordyn Brewer, Ayla Fitzjurls and Mercedes Philbrook. The pit band features Shera Hilt, Patrick Groening, Ben Robson, Jeremiah Muzzy-Chaplin and Alexis Racioppi.

Tickets will be sold at the door, $8 or $5 for students and senior citizens. A weekend ticket special grants admission to all three weekend shows for $15 and $10. Concessions will be available, provided by Ice On The Move.
