At any age, a medical crisis can render someone too ill to make healthcare decisions, leaving those decisions to family members and loved ones. Making one’s wishes known with an advance directive is an important step toward ensuring they are honored.

Waldo County General Hospital is offering help with healthcare planning at an open house Wednesday, Dec. 9, with two sessions, the first from 9 a.m. to noon and the second from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Lincolnville Health Center, 2399 Atlantic Highway, Lincolnville.

Topics to be discussed include advance care planning and advance directives, and assistance with completing advance directives will be available.
