Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following incidents in Waldo County from Oct. 27 to Nov. 5. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 800-452-4664.

Nov. 5

Trooper Benjamin Sweeney stopped a vehicle on Winnecook Road in Burnham after it nearly collided with his cruiser. An investigation determined Lori Cookson, 50, of Burnham, was in possession of a usable amount of marijuana. Cookson was charged for the offense.

Nov. 2

Trooper Sweeney arrested Marcy Marriner, 33, of Knox, on an outstanding warrant. Marriner was arrested without incident and taken to Waldo County Correctional Center where she was also charged with operating after suspension.

Oct. 31

Trooper Sweeney stopped a vehicle on Route 137 in Knox. He determined the vehicle's registration was expired for more than 150 days. Kelley Holmes, 46, of Palermo, was charged for the offense.

Oct. 28

Trooper Corey Smith stopped a pickup truck traveling north on Route 137 in Knox for allegedly speeding 96 mph in a 50 mph zone. A male, 17, of Jackson, was charged with criminal speed.

Oct. 27

Trooper Smith stopped Russell Lancaster, 51, of Searsport, on Route 7 in Jackson for speeding. Lancaster was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle and issued a citation for failure to produce evidence of insurance. His vehicle was towed.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
