January marked the start of a series of four one-day workshops for high school students hosted by Chef Annemarie of Salt Water Farm Cooking School. The “Back to Basics” cooking workshop introduced students to the value of real food, the importance of avoiding processed foods and how much fun it can be to cook from scratch.

Participants made bread, pasta, soup and a Caesar salad that is still being talked about around the Youthlinks building. Did you know they put anchovies in those?!

The students and chef thank St. Peter’s for the use of the kitchen space to run the program.

Youthlinks is a program of Broadreach Family & Community Services, a nonprofit organization serving Knox and Waldo counties.
