According to unofficial results, Mark Bradstreet has been elected selectman in Searsport, unseating incumbent Meredith Ares.

As of 9:50 p.m., the results of the three-way race showed Bradstreet with 156 votes, Ares with 115 and Christopher Colby with 79 votes. A total of 363 residents participated in the election, according to Selectman Dick Desmarais.

Bradstreet, prior to the election, was a member of the town Planning Board and said he has previously served as a municipal official in another town. In addition to the Planning Board, Bradstreet has served on a number of town committees in Searsport. Jerry French Jr., running as a write-in candidate for the Regional School Unit 20 Board of Directors, was elected with 41 votes.
