Necessary Music Productions will host the CD release party for Waldo County’s own Sugarbush Friday night, May 27, at The Speakeasy, under the Eclipse Restaurant, 2 Park Drive. Doors will open 8 p.m., with an opening set by American dup Will Neils & Emmett Lalor at 8:45 p.m.

The band, a big hit at the O'Chang Comics “Temp Tales” release party last fall, will have copies of "Fresh From The Woods" available for purchase. Admission at the door is $5.

Sugarbush is fast becoming known as one of the finest Americana/old-timey bands in the state of Maine. The band features Becca Biggs on lead vocals and banjo; Camille Giglio on lead vocals and cello; and Amy Green on lead vocals, guitar and mandolin, who have been creating happy fans since they started playing together last year. Their original work has all the growling, grit and grace needed to persevere through the long winters, short summers and rugged lands of Maine, where they are farmers, mothers and artists. Sugarbush headlined Belfast's New Year’s by the Bay celebration with two shows at The Colonial Theatre.

Neils and Lalor perform a wide range of acoustic numbers including blues and country from the 1920s forward; soul from the ‘50s and ‘60s; and current songwriters Jason Isbell, Mallett Brothers and The Coloradas. Lalor holds down all guitar responsibilities, and both men sing.
