All six Waldo County high school teams — and two from neighboring Knox County — were in preseason action on the baseball and softball diamonds on Tuesday, April 11 with the start of the regular season on the horizon.

Camden Hills teams visited Belfast and Searsport hosted Mount View of Thorndike in scrimmages.

The Searsport softball team walked off with a 15-14 win with a run in the bottom of the final frame, while the Mount View baseball team posted a 3-0 win. In the baseball game, the teams played an extra frame late in the contest when junior varsity players participated and the Mustangs tacked on a few more runs.

The Belfast baseball squad also emerged with an 8-1 win over Camden Hills, while the Lion softball team also posted a 13-10 win over the Windjammers. Those games originally were scheduled to be played in Rockport, but were moved to Belfast due to Camden Hills’ fields not yet playable.
