William James "Bill" Fieweger died Monday, May 15, 2017, at his home in Searsport at the age of 70.

Bill was born in Appleton, Wis., Feb. 27, 1947, the son of the late James and Lois (Rauschenberger) Fieweger. He was the loving husband of Eileen Reilly.

Bill was retired from Midcoast Mental Health Center, where as a social worker, he helped make a positive impact on the lives of countless clients over the course of a 32-year career. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1975 before moving back east. He enjoyed summers at his cottage on Randall Pond in Brooks when his children were young, and, later, summer vacations with his family, siblings and extended family in Cape Cod.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Hanne Schoentgen of Flagstaff, Ariz., Sara Harman and her husband Mark of Knoxville, Tenn., Josh Fieweger and his fiancée Beth Gruber of Monclova, Ohio; and step-daughter Sarah Murphy and husband Eric of Bucksport; grandchildren: Emily Schoentgen, Haley and Kendall Fieweger and Madison and Aubrey Harman; and siblings: Cynthia Bocchiere, Peter Fieweger, Tim Fieweger and Andy Fieweger. Everyone who knew Bill will deeply miss his compassion, kindness, wisdom, patience and great sense of humor.

In accordance with Bill's wishes, there will be no formal services held. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial donations may be made in the name of Bill Fieweger to NAMI Maine at 1 Bangor St., Augusta, ME 04330, or online through namimaine.org/donations/.
