The Rock Coast Rollers women's flat track roller derby has had a busy season and will continue that on Saturday, July 1 when the group hosts Pioneer Valley's Western Mass Destruction in the Midcoast team's final home match of the summer at the Midcoast Recreation Center.

The family-friendly event, which runs 6 to 8 p.m. allows children younger than 12 to watch free. There also will be a halftime show, food at the event and raffles.

The following is a recap of Rock Coast Rollers season results:

April 22, 2017 — Rock Coast Rollers versus Mass Attack Roller Derby. Rock Coast took the win 211 to 155 to begin the season.

May 20, 2017 — The Maine Event — Rock Coast Rollers hosted a tournament with Maine Roller Derby Leagues: Central Maine Roller Derby, Androscoggin Fallen Angels and Aroostook Roller Derby. Rock Coast Rollers finished first, Central Maine Roller Derby second, Aroostook Roller Derby third and Androscoggin Fallen Angels fourth.

June 9-11 — Third annual International Coastal Chaos Tournament. Rock Coast Rollers hosted eight teams from around the world, all of whom played sanctioned games, and battled it out for the Lighthouse Trophy.

The teams at Coastal Chaos 2017, and their finishes, were: Gothenburg Roller Derby, Gothenburg, Sweden, first; Lowcountry Highrollers, Charleston, S.C., fourth; Green Mountain Roller Derby, Champlain Valley, Vt., third; Central New York Roller Derby, Utica, N.Y., seventh; Bay State Brawlers, Fitchburg, Mass., fifth; Shipyard Sirens, St. John Canada, eighth; Connecticut Roller Derby, Naugatuck, Conn., second; and host Rock Coast Rollers, Rockland, Maine, sixth.

According to the group's Facebook page, "Rock Coast Rollers is a diverse group of women dedicated to advancing and advocating for the sport of roller derby, women, our league and our community. We are a skater-owned, 501c3 not-for-profit business under WFTDA (Women's Flat Track Derby Association), based in Rockland, Maine."
